Candy Box Photography

In a life-time, there are so many events that would be fantastic to treasure. Candy Box Photography aspires to savour those sweet moments that words can’t describe. Our quality photographs aim to capture the emotions, the facial expressions, the events that are unfolding so that you can relive the memories of the present.

Candy Box Photography unofficially formed in November 2008 as when two photo enthusiasts started to encourage each other to explore the photography world, feeding off each other’s passion for beautiful images and eagerness to learn new techniques, improving rapidly to constantly produce fantastic photos appreciated by everyone around them. This inspired the formation of 3dot Photography, however, we couldn’t register the business name 3dot, hence we are now registered as Candy Box Photography.

We also now run an international group for photography enthusiasts called ‘Snappy Shutters!’ We encourage members to express themselves through photography and share their best work that captures the given weekly theme.

I am an observer, a fly on the wall, a periscope in the sea. Fond of exploring all avenues of photography my style warmly reflects the type of person I am. An incurable romantic as seen in my wedding photography, a die hard food addict as seen on my food & commercial photography and a keen photo journalist who prefers to catch the joyous emotions, that one split second before a smile gets lost in time.

Grace Lye

I’m a passionate photographer who loves to capture all the special moments of life. I believe that a gorgeous photograph can say more than a thousand words could ever describe. A photograph transcends time… it brings beautiful memories of the past into the future.

I started taking interest in photography when I could afford a compact digital in the days of 3MP. I kept upgrading my compact digital cameras every few months in search of a camera better in colour and picture quality. I wasn’t satisfied until my ex-housemate introduced me to his Canon 40D in late 2007. It was then that I knew I had to get a ‘proper’ camera. Since February 2008, I’ve immersed myself in researching digital photography techniques and practicing my skills with my Canon 40D. I’m very grateful for the many skilled and talented photographers that I’ve been surrounded by that have inspired me and aided my growth in photography.

I do not limit myself to one style of photography, rather, I endeavour to challenge my skill in all the different areas. I have photographed thus far from portraits, fashion, sports, weddings, functions, events, automotives and venues. However, I most enjoy capturing moments of people, I find that expressions caught are fascinating and priceless.

I’ve also worked as a a promotional model for 5 years which has given me an edge in understanding how to compose a photo through poses and stance angles to flatter the model and create a fantastic image. I studied Multimedia (Business Marketing) where I learnt to use image editing tools which give the finishing touches to my dynamic images.
